Cupping Therapy

Gentle suction that lifts the tissue rather than pressing into it, and brings blood to where it is needed.

A quiet corner with a wooden chair, a pitcher of water and a potted plant, warm light falling across cream walls.

Cupping does something that hands cannot. Instead of pressing down into the tissue, the cups create a vacuum that lifts it, drawing blood into the area and loosening the layers underneath. For a muscle that has been stuck for a long time, that change of direction is often exactly what it needs.

The session is short and focused: thirty minutes on the one or two areas that are giving you trouble, most commonly the back and shoulders. The cups are left in place or moved slowly across the skin, and the sensation is a firm pull rather than pain.

It does leave marks. They are round, they are painless, and they fade over a few days to a week. If you have something coming up where you would rather not have them, tell me and we will time it around that or do something else.

Cupping can be booked on its own or talked about as part of a longer session. If you are not sure whether it is for you, ask — I will give you a straight answer.
