Kelly Whisman Licensed Massage Therapist

Kelly Whisman, LMT

Holistically serving central Kentucky.

I am a licensed massage therapist, and this practice is just me — one room, one table, one client at a time. Nobody is waiting in a lobby, and nothing about your hour is on a schedule but yours.

I am passionate about what I do, and I genuinely cannot wait to meet you. That is not a line. Most people who put off booking a massage for years tell me afterwards that the hardest part was the introduction, not the massage. So consider this one.

Holistic is a word that gets used loosely, so here is what I mean by it: I am treating a whole person, not a sore spot. Where it hurts is rarely where the problem started, and a body that has been guarding for a long time does not stop because you tell it to. It stops because it is given long enough, in a safe enough room, to decide for itself that it can.

That is why I do not think of relaxation and relief as two different services. A Swedish massage that leaves you moving better than you arrived, a deep tissue session that also lets your nervous system stand down, a prenatal session that gives a working body an hour off — they are the same work, and most people need some of both.

I will explain what I find as I go, because you should understand your own body better when you leave than when you arrived. But I am not going to talk through your whole hour. If you would rather say nothing at all, say nothing at all.

What I will not do

  • Tell you massage fixes everything. Sometimes the honest answer is a physical therapist, a doctor, or an X-ray, and I will say so.
  • Sell you a package of ten while you are half asleep on the table.
  • Work through pain you have told me is too much. Tell me and it changes immediately.
  • Make you talk.

You do not need a good reason.

Plenty of people book because something hurts. Plenty book because the week was long and they need an hour where nobody can reach them. Both are the whole point.
